Borax, generally written as Na2B4O7?10H2O, is a very important boron-containing mineral and boron compound. Usually a white powder containing colorless crystals, odorless and salty. The specific gravity is 1.73. All crystal water is lost at 350-400°C. Soluble in water and glycerol, slightly soluble in alcohol. The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline.

Used as the basic raw material of boron compounds, but also used in glass, enamel, non-ferrous metal welding, fertilizer, atomic energy industry and electronic tubes
Borax in addition to heat, water and acid resistance and other characteristics, there is a strong ability to dissolve.
