The number of ethoxy groups in the fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether molecule can be artificially adjusted during the synthesis process, so a series of nonionic surfactants with different properties and uses can be produced. Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is the most important type of nonionic surfactant. The ether bond in the molecule is not easily destroyed by acid or alkali, so it has high stability, good water solubility, electrolyte resistance, easy biodegradation, and small foam. In addition to being widely used in the textile printing and dyeing industry, it is also widely used in compounding low-foaming liquid detergents.

Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether has good compatibility with other surfactants. It is insensitive to hard water and has good low-temperature washing performance, but its solubility will gradually decrease with the increase of water temperature. Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether is stable in hydrolysis within the pH range of 3 to 11. However, they will also slowly oxidize in the air to produce some oxidation products, such as hydroperoxides, which are more toxic to the skin than those surfactants that have not yet experienced similar situations.

1. Washing industry As a non-ionic surfactant, it has emulsification, foaming and decontamination effects. It is the main active ingredient of hand soap, laundry detergent, shower gel, washing powder, detergent, and metal cleaning agent.

2. Textile printing and dyeing industry As a textile printing and dyeing auxiliary, it has an emulsification effect: emulsified silicone oil, penetrant, leveling agent, polypropylene oil agent

3. Papermaking industry As deinking agent, blanket cleaning agent, deresin agent.

AEO3 (MOA3) can be used as an oil-in-water emulsifier and is the main raw material for the high-efficiency detergent fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sodium sulfate (AES).

AEO7 can be used as a disinfectant, degreaser, and laundry detergent raw material.

AEO9 is mainly used in wool detergents, wool spinning industry degreasing agents, fabric detergents, and liquid detergent active components.
