Glycerol,  also known as glycerol, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H8O3. It is a simple polyol compound. It is a colorless, odorless, sweet-tasting viscous liquid and non-toxic. The main chain of glycerol exists in lipids known as glycerides.
Due to its antibacterial and antiviral properties, it is widely used in the FDA-approved treatment of wounds and burns. Colorless, transparent and sweet viscous liquid and belongs to organic. It can absorb moisture, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide from the air. Large quantity may cause anesthesia. It is the framework component of triglyceride molecule.
