Cetearyl alcohol and ceteareth-20 has the property of self-thickening, so it can act as an emulsifier and can playthe role of thickening in the formula, so adjusting its usage canprepare a variety of viscosity of dioxygen milk matrix.

1.Synergistic emulsification to stabilise O/W and W/O systems

Cetearyl alcohol :
Mainly used as co-emulsifier/thickener to enhance emulsion stability and prevent delamination.
In O/W (oil-in-water) system, it helps to form liquid crystal structure and enhance the moisturising property.

Ceteareth-20 :
As a non-ionic emulsifier, it reduces the interfacial tension between oil and water, making the emulsion more delicate and even.
When combined with cetearyl alcohol, it can form a more stable layered gel network, which is suitable for formulations with high oil content.

2.Significant Thickening & Texture Improvement
The waxy nature of cetyl stearyl alcohol can significantly increase the consistency of emulsions/creams, reducing the amount of thickeners such as carbomer. Compounding creates a silky, non-tacky skin feel and avoids the heaviness of pure cetearyl alcohols.
