Used in pesticides for synthesizing herbicides, acaricides and fungicides. In medicine, it is used for synthesizing antihypertensive drugs. In plastics, it is used as a foaming agent for foamed plastics, which can enhance the mechanical strength and thermodynamic stability of plastics. It is also used as an intermediate for dye food additives and sweeteners. It can be used for synthesizing carbodiimide as a polyurethane additive, an epoxy resin curing agent and for other organic syntheses.
