Product Description

Ambergris Ketone is a synthetic amber fragrance. It is prepared by a Diels-Alder reaction of myrcene and 3-methyl-3- penten-2-one in the presence of aluminum chloride and cyclization of the substituted cyclohexenylmethyl ketone intermediate with phosphoric acid. Some of the corresponding 3-naphthalenyl methyl ketone is also formed.
