Product Description

Methyl maltol is a white to slightly yellow needle-like crystal or crystalline powder. It has a special aroma similar to caramelized cream candy. Dilute solutions have a strawberry fragrance. It is volatile and sublimes at 93 °C. One gram of the sample is soluble in 82 ml of water, 21 ml of ethanol, 80 ml of glycerol or 28 ml of propylene glycol. It is slightly soluble in benzene and insoluble in petroleum ether. Natural products are found in roasted malt, pine needles, chicory, etc.
