Mainly used for synthesizing some drugs for treating cardiovascular diseases. It is an important intermediate for producing antiplatelet drugs such as ticagrelor. Ticagrelor can reversibly inhibit platelet adenosine diphosphate (ADP) receptors, thereby exerting an antiplatelet aggregation effect and being used for preventing atherosclerotic thrombotic events.
