Applications

3-Bromo-1-(3-chloro-2-pyridyl)-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid can be used as an intermediate for chlorantraniliprole. The Chinese trade name of chlorantraniliprole is Kangkuan. It is a new type of highly effective and low-toxicity o-formylamino benzamide insecticide developed by DuPont in the United States. It also has good insecticidal activity at very low concentrations and has a special effect on lepidopteran insects. The chemical name is 3-bromo-N-{4-chloro-2-methyl-6-[(methylamino)carbonyl]phenyl}-1-(3-chloro-2-pyridyl)-1H-pyridine-5-amide.
