Cinnamic acid is a white monoclinic prism. Slightly aromatic of cinnamon. Soluble in ethanol, methanol, petroleum ether, chloroform, soluble in benzene, ether, acetone, glacial acetic acid, carbon disulfide and oil, insoluble in water.
