1,6-Hexanediol is White needle-like crystals. Melting point 43ºC, boiling point 250ºC, 152ºC (2.27 kPa), 132ºC (1.2 kPa), refractive index 1.4579 (25ºC), flash point 101ºC. Soluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in hot ether, insoluble in benzene.
