Product Description

Borax, generally written as Na2B4O7?10H2O, is a very important boron-containing mineral and boron compound. Usually a white powder containing colorless crystals, odorless and salty. The specific gravity is 1.73. All crystal water is lost at 350-400°C. Soluble in water and glycerol, slightly soluble in alcohol. The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline.

Application Area

      Borax in addition to heat, water and acid resistance and other characteristics, there is a strong ability to dissolve. When borax is heated, it turns white and expands into transparent glass spheres, in which the metal oxide dissolves, restoring the metal's original color. This is known as the borax pellet reaction. Borax can be used for capacitor manufacturing, for all kinds of glass products, for the ceramic industry as glaze. It is used as antifreeze and anticoagulative agent in mining and metallurgical industry, as electrolyte additive and welding agent in non-ferrous metal industry. Also used as a preservative and herbicide and soil fungicide and boride manufacturing.
