o-Cymen-5-ol also called 4-Isopropyl-3-Methylphenol, IPMP is a great ingredient for preserving cosmetics and personal care products. It has antibacterial properties that help in increasing the shelf life of a range of formulations. In addition, O-Cymen-5-ol also helps inhibit the growth of microorganisms - cleansing it thoroughly and preventing odor. It is a preservative that can be used in formulations in concentrations of up to five percent.
