Application:

It is an ester compound and can be used as a reagent for modifying histidine and tyrosine in diethyl pyrocarbonate. It is also a chemical modifier for RNase. It reacts with the imidazole ring of histidine, the active group of RNase, to inhibit RNase activity.
Diethyl pyrocarbonate can be used for RNA extraction in biological experiments.
