Application & Funtion

Propionyl L-carnitine hydrochloride  is an esterified product of L-carnitine. It is not easy to absorb moisture,  is white powder, and is easily soluble in water. It is mainly used for the treatment of deterioration of renal function, congestive heart failure and other diseases.
Propionyl-l-carnitine (PLC), a natural derivative of carnitine, plays an important role in both carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, thereby increasing ATP production. However, PLC is not only a metabolic drug, but can also be used as a drug. It is also a potent anti-free radical and therefore can protect tissues from oxidative damage. PLC has been shown to play a protective role in different models of cardiac and endothelial dysfunction, preventing the development of atherosclerosis and, more recently, ameliorating some of the cardiometabolic alterations that often accompany  resistance.
