Methyl propylene glycol, the English name is METHYLPROPANEDIOL, alias: 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol (MPO); 2-methylpentane-2,4-diol. Methylpropylene glycol is a colorless and transparent liquid with low viscosity and can act as a solvent to dissolve other ingredients in cosmetic formulas. It is almost non-irritating to the skin and eyes.
Methylpropylene glycol can be used to make unsaturated polyester, liquid saturated polyester, thermoplastic polyester resin (modification of PET and PBT), alkyd resin, polyurethane resin, diester plasticizer, lubricant, etc., and is also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc. The obtained polymer has the characteristics of low viscosity, low melting point, low temperature resistance, and weather resistance.
