Inositol (cyclohexanol) is a naturally-occurring sugar alcohol ingredient with excellent moisturising, antioxidant and barrier-repairing properties, and has been widely used in high-end skincare formulations in recent years.

1.Intense moisturisation and barrier repair

Inositol, part of the skin's natural moisturising composition, enhances stratum corneum hydration and reduces water loss, especially for dry or barrier-damaged skin. By regulating the lipid metabolism of the skin, it helps to produce ceramides, which strengthens the skin's barrier function and relieves sensitivity and redness.

2.Antioxidant and anti-aging
Inositol scavenges ROS (Reactive Oxygen Clusters), reduces oxidative stress damage and slows down skin aging caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays and environmental pollutants. It is often combined with ingredients such as vitamin E and glutathione to enhance the overall antioxidant effect and reduce wrinkles and sagging.

3.Regulate sebum and improve acne
Inositol is involved in cell signalling and may indirectly regulate sebaceous gland activity, reducing the feeling of oiliness and clogged pores. It inhibits pro-inflammatory factors and relieves acne redness, suitable for oily and acne-prone skin.
