• Solvent/Co-solvent : It dissolves film-forming substances such as alkyd resins, acrylic resins, epoxy resins, and polyurethane resins. It is especially suitable for water-based coatings (e.g., water-based wood coatings, water-based industrial coatings), as it can improve the fluidity of coatings, reduce viscosity, and prevent pigment precipitation.
• Film-forming Auxiliary : In water-based coatings, it can lower the minimum film-forming temperature (MFT), helping latex particles fuse into a continuous and uniform film in low-temperature environments. This enhances the gloss, adhesion, and water resistance of the paint film while reducing cracking or chalking of the film.
• Ink Regulator : Used in solvent-based inks (e.g., gravure printing inks, screen printing inks), it adjusts the drying speed of inks (its volatility is lower than that of ethanol and acetone, which can extend the leveling time). It improves the color uniformity and clarity of printed products and prevents the problem of "plate clogging".

2. Cleaning Agents and Metal Processing Field

• Industrial Cleaning Agents : It is used to formulate metal cleaning agents (e.g., for cleaning mechanical parts, auto parts) and electronic component cleaning agents (e.g., for removing flux residues on PCB boards). It can effectively dissolve contaminants such as mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils, rosin, and resins. Moreover, it is easy to rinse off with water and not prone to residue.
• Metal Surface Treatment : It serves as a co-solvent in metal phosphating and passivation processes, helping to adjust the stability of the treatment solution and improve the uniformity of the phosphating film. It is also used as an additive in metal cutting fluids to enhance the oil dispersion ability of the cutting fluid and extend its service life.

3. Textile and Leather Industry

• Textile Auxiliaries : As a dye solvent and leveling agent, it helps disperse dyes with poor water solubility (e.g., certain disperse dyes, acid dyes), ensuring uniform fabric dyeing and reducing color unevenness and color difference. Meanwhile, it can be used as a solvent for textile slurries to improve the adhesion of slurries to fibers.
• Leather Treatment Agents : Used as a solvent in leather finishing agents (e.g., leather topcoat varnishes, bottom treatment agents), it dissolves finishing resins (e.g., acrylic resins, polyurethane resins), making the finishing layer smooth and glossy, and improving the abrasion resistance and flexibility of leather.

4. Electronics and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Field

• PCB Manufacturing : In the etching and developing processes of PCBs, it is used as a solvent or co-solvent to formulate etching solutions and developing solutions. It helps dissolve photoresist residues or unexposed resins, ensuring clear circuit patterns. It is also used as a PCB cleaning agent to remove flux (rosin-based) and oil stains after soldering.
• Electronic Component Encapsulation : It acts as a diluent in epoxy resin encapsulation materials, reducing the viscosity of the encapsulation adhesive. This facilitates filling into the tiny gaps of electronic components without affecting the insulation performance and mechanical strength of the material after curing.
