Product Description

Butyl glycol, also known as butyl glycol ether or monobutyl glycol ether, has a CAS number of 111-76-2. It is a colorless, transparent and flammable liquid with a moderate ether odor. Its flash point is 60-74ºC (closed/open), autoignition point is 472ºC, density is 0.9015g/cm³ (at 20ºC), vapor pressure is 0.11kPa (at 25ºC), it is soluble in water (completely miscible at 46ºC), acetone, benzene and mineral oil, and has a high dilution ratio with petroleum hydrocarbons.


Butyl glycol,    is an organic compound with the chemical formula BuOC2H4OH (Bu = CH3CH2CH2CH2). This colorless liquid has a sweet, ether-like odor, as it derives from the family of glycol ethers, and is a butyl ether of ethylene glycol. As a relatively nonvolatile, inexpensive solvent, it is used in many domestic and industrial products because of its properties as a surfactant.

1. It can be used as a solvent for coatings, printing inks, ink pads for seals, oils, resins, etc. It is also suitable for metal detergents, paint removers, lubricating oil removers, engine detergents for automobiles, dry cleaning solvents, epoxy resin solvents, and drug extractants. It is used as a stabilizer for latex paint, an evaporation inhibitor for aircraft coatings, and for surface processing of high-temperature baked enamel paint, etc.
 
2. To use as coatings, printing inks, printing ink, stamp pad with oil and resin solvent.
