• Chemical Raw Material : As a basic organic chemical raw material, it is used to produce acetaldehyde, ethyl acetate, ethylene glycol, etc. These substances can be further processed into products such as plastics, rubber, and synthetic fibers.
• Solvent : Due to its ability to dissolve a variety of organic substances, it is widely used in the production of coatings, inks, cosmetics (e.g., perfumes, nail polish), and cleaning agents to help mix various components evenly.

2. Food and Medical Care Sector

• Food Processing : As a food additive (e.g., solvent, extractant), it is used to extract spices and pigments (e.g., capsicum red pigment). It also serves as a fermentation product in wine brewing (e.g., liquor and wine contain ethanol).
• Medical Disinfection : Ethanol with a concentration of   70%-75%   is the most commonly used medical disinfectant. It kills microorganisms by destroying the protein structure of bacteria and can be used for surface disinfection of skin and medical equipment (e.g., thermometers).

3. Energy Fuel Sector

• Fuel Ethanol : As a renewable energy source, it is mixed with gasoline in a certain proportion (e.g., E10 gasoline contains 10% ethanol) to make ethanol gasoline. It can reduce the emission of harmful gases in automobile exhaust and is currently promoted and used in many parts of the world.
• Laboratory Fuel : High-purity ethanol (e.g., 95%, 99.5%) can be used as fuel for alcohol lamps, applied in laboratory operations such as heating and sterilization.

4. Daily Life Sector

• Daily Cleaning : It is used to make glass cleaners and kitchen degreasers, which can effectively remove oil stains and dirt. Some hand soaps and hand sanitizing gels also contain ethanol.
• Personal Care : It is added in small amounts to mouthwash and hair styling products, which can play roles in sterilization, dissolving active ingredients, or adjusting the texture of products.
