Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the formula CH2Cl2, is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to ether. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, it is an incombustible low-boiling solvent under normal conditions of use, and when its vapor becomes high concentration in high temperature air, it will generate a weakly burning mixed gas [4], which is commonly used to replace flammable petroleum ether, ether, etc.
