    Methylene Chloride/Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the chemical formula of CH2Cl2, is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to ether. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether. Under normal conditions of use, it is a nonflammable low-boiling solvent. When its vapor becomes high concentration in high temperature air, it will generate a mixture of weakly burning gases, which is often used to replace flammable petroleum ether and ether.
