Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2Cl2, is a colorless, transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to that of an ether.Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, under normal conditions of use is a non-combustible low boiling point solvent, the vapor in the high temperature air becomes a high concentration, will produce a weak combustion gas mixture.It is often used to replace flammable petroleum ethers, ethers, etc.

Dichloromethane has the advantages of strong solubility and low toxicity, and is widely used in the manufacture of safety film, polycarbonate, and the rest is used as a coating solvent, metal degreasing agent, aerosol spray, polyurethane foaming agent, mold release agent, paint stripper.It is used for grain fumigation and refrigeration of low-pressure freezers and air conditioning units, for the electronics industry, and also as an intermediate for organic synthesis.
