Benzalkonium chloride is a cationic surfactant and a non-oxidizing bactericide. It has a broad-spectrum and highly efficient ability to kill bacteria and algae. It can effectively control the reproduction of bacteria and algae and the growth of slime in water, and it also has a good slime stripping effect, as well as certain dispersion and penetration effects. At the same time, it has a certain ability to remove oil, deodorize, and has a corrosion inhibition effect.

Benzalkonium chloride has low toxicity, no cumulative toxicity, and is easily soluble in water. It is not affected by water hardness. Therefore, it is widely used in the circulating cooling water systems of industries such as petroleum, chemical engineering, electric power, and textiles. It is used to control the growth of bacteria and algae in the circulating cooling water system and has a specific effect on killing sulfate-reducing bacteria. Benzalkonium chloride can be used as a bactericidal and mildew-proof agent, softener, antistatic agent, emulsifier, conditioner, etc. in the textile and printing and dyeing industry. It can also be used as an anti-corrosion and bactericidal agent for wet wipes.

Usage Method:
When benzalkonium chloride is used as a non-oxidizing bactericide and algicide, the general dosage is 50-100mg/L; when used as a slime stripping agent, the usage amount is 200-300mg/L. When necessary, an appropriate amount of silicone-based defoaming agent can be added. 1227 can be used in combination with other bactericides, such as isothiazolinones, glutaraldehyde, dithiocyanomethane, etc., which can play a synergistic effect, but it cannot be used together with chlorophenol-based agents. After adding 1227, if there are dirt in the circulating water due to stripping, they should be filtered out or fished out in a timely manner to prevent sedimentation after the foam disappears. The bactericide 1227 should never be mixed with anionic surfactants.
