A
road surface shot blasting machine
is a mechanical device used to clean, texture, and prepare asphalt or concrete pavements by propelling steel shots at high speed. It removes surface contaminants, deteriorating layers, and creates anti-slip profiles, widely applied in road maintenance, bridge deck treatment, and airport runway rehabilitation.
Working Principle:
-
Shot Propulsion
: A high-speed rotor (1,500-2,500 RPM) flings steel shots (diameter 0.3-1.2 mm) onto the road surface, impacting at 60-80 m/s to blast away dirt, oil, paint, or loose aggregates.
-
Recovery System
: An integrated vacuum unit collects used shots, dust, and debris, recycling the shots for continuous operation.
Key Components:
-
Shot Blasting Chamber
-
Rotor Assembly: Carbide-tipped blades for durable shot propulsion.
-
Shot Hopper: Holds 500-2,000 kg of steel shots, with automatic feeding control.
-
Mobile Chassis
-
Self-propelled (5-10 km/h) or towable design, fitting widths of 1-3 m for different road sizes.
-
Dust Collection Unit
-
High-efficiency filters (99% dust capture rate) to meet environmental standards.
