Dimethyl thio-toluene diamine (DMTDA) is an important organic compound, and its CAS number is 106264-79-3.  DMTDA amine is a steric hindrance aromatic diamine.  The steric hindrance effect of methyl groups makes its activity lower than that of toluenediamine (TDA) and diethyltoluenediamine (DETDA), and its reaction rate with the prepolymer is 5 to 9 times longer than that of DETDA.  However, its activity is higher than that of MOCA.  In prepolymers with low NOC content, the pouring time for curing with DMTDA is shorter than that of MOCA.
 

1)It is a new liquid curing agent for polyurethane elastomers. It is widely used in polyurethane casting, coatings, RIM, SPUA, polyurethane tires and adhesives to extend the chain or cross-link. It is also a curing agent for epoxy resin.

2)As a hardener, when added to TDI and MTDI two-component polyurethane elastomers, it must be added at a level of 10%. In the construction and civil engineering industries, it is often used in fireproof coatings (roof tops, side walls Chemicalbook) , anti-corrosion of metal materials (coating on the inner wall of iron pipes) and other additives, polyurethane products that can react with other substances without any treatment are better than products with MOCA (Mocha) hardener.

3)Used in polyurethane printing squeegees, oil pipe cleaning scrapers, etc. to improve the oil resistance of polyurethane and reduce the volume expansion rate.
