Nicotinamide ribonucleoside claims
to be a new form of pyridine-nucleoside vitamin B3, which is used as a precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide or NAD+. It is also called NR and SRT647, which is the pyridine-nucleoside form of vitamin B3.
Nicotinamide riboside (abbreviated as NR) is the precursor of an important coenzyme, also known as Vitamin B3. This coenzyme is Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+, also known as coenzyme I). It is a coenzyme that transmits protons (more accurately, hydrogen ions) and appears in many metabolic reactions of cells. The coenzyme is involved in the breakdown of compounds such as proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, and is essential for human life activities. As cells age or become diseased, their number will decrease. Therefore, supplementation of Nicotinamide riboside can increase the content of this coenzyme (NAD+) and improve the basic metabolic activity of cells, thus significantly improving cell vitality and improving various physiological functions of the human body.
