Product Description
2-Bromonaphthalene, also known as β-bromonaphthalene. It is white or yellow flaky crystal. Molecular weight is 207.07. Melting point is 59ºC. Boiling point is 281-282ºC. Relative density is 1.605 (0/4ºC). Refractive index is 1.6382 (60ºC). Soluble in benzene, ether, chloroform, carbon disulfide and alcohol, slightly soluble in water. This product is toxic, and its toxicity is similar to that of chloronaphthalene. Used for preparing dyes. Obtained by the reaction of α-naphthol with bromine.
