Sebacic Acid Di-N-Octyl Ester is a light yellow or colorless transparent liquid. Color (APHA) less than 40. Freezing point: -40ºC, boiling point: 377ºC(0.1MPa), 256ºC(0.67kPa). Relative density 0.912(at 25ºC). Refractive index: 1.449-1.451(at 25ºC). The ignition point is 257ºC to 263ºC. Viscosity: 25mPa•s(at 25ºC). It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, esters, chlorinated hydrocarbons and ethers. It has good compatibility with resins such as polyvinyl chloride, and ethyl cellulose, as well as rubbers like chloroprene rubber. It has a high plasticizing efficiency and low volatility. It not only has excellent cold resistance, but also good heat resistance, light resistance and electrical insulation. Moreover, it has good lubricity when heated, making the appearance and hand feel of the products good. It is particularly suitable for making cold-resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, films, plates, sheets, etc.
